The Team

This is the team that builds your houses and solves your renovation problems. Together we have over 130 years of construction, planning, excavation, and fine carpentry experience. In short, everything you need to get your job done with unparalleled peace of mind. Plus we are lots of fun to work with because we love what we do.

Charles E. Goodman III
President

Charlie has been living and breathing construction for over 45 years. From site work to construction, his work has touched every aspect of homebuilding in the Mad River Valley. He has also served on the local select board and is currently the Waitsfield road commissioner. He and his wife Liz moved to the valley from Pennsylvania when they were in their 20s, and raised three boys while building up Goodman Construction.

Charles E. Goodman IV
Vice President

The oldest of the three Goodman brothers, Charlie built his first house when he was just 15. After graduating with distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (with a degree in Civil Engineering), he went to work full time, while pulling down an MBA from Northeastern, and was among the top students in his class. After college, he worked for some large general contractors, building residential, commercial and educational buildings in Massachusetts, Florida and Virginia. But the mountains of Vermont were calling, and in 2012 he moved back to the Mad River Valley to take over the family business. He and his wife Susie (a nurse) live in Waitsfield with their twins, Charlie and Isla.

Nate Goodman
Project Supervisor

Nate joined the team in 2014. He has spent most of his life in Mad River Valley, graduating from Harwood Union High School and receiving an Associate’s Degree from Hesser College. He has held a variety of jobs in the construction industry, from labor foreman and assistant superintendent to carpenter and telephone lineman. Nate lives with his wife, Krystle, and their daughters Kinley and Nora, in Waitsfield.

Jake Ryley
Project Supervisor

Jake has been with Goodman Construction since 2015, and brings years of construction experience to the team, the result of years learning from some of the best craftsman in Colorado, Montana, and Vermont. He is experienced in all aspects of construction, from framing to roofing to complicated interior trim packages.  He and his wife Carla have 3 beautiful young girls – Emma, Maddie and Carley.

Wilson Pierce
Project Supervisor

Wilson joined Goodman in 2016. Born and raised in Warren, he has spent most of his life in the Mad River Valley, graduating from Harwood Union High School. He brings several years of construction experience to the team and is also deeply involved in our community. An avid soccer and basketball player, in winter he can be found shredding the rare powder day at Sugarbush. He lives with his girlfriend, Eliza, in Waitsfield.

Jake Ritchie
Carpenter

Jacob is the newest addition to Goodman Construction.  Just like the rest of the crew, Jacob has been entrenched in the Mad River Valley most of his life.  He loves being outdoors, working with his hands, working hard and having a good time.  Jacob will always be the guy at the peak of the roof and at the top of the ladder.  He lives off the grid in Warren and somehow survives our brutally cold winters.

Gerrit Lane
Carpenter

Gerrit is another local boy growing up and spending most of his life in Moretown, Vermont. After graduating college at NVU Johnson, he spent some time living and working in Boston, MA. doing sales. It didn’t take long for him to realize that city life was going to cut it, so Gerrit worked on an Alaskan commercial salmon fishing boat and also spent some time working as a ski bum in Deer Valley. He always knew he would make his way back to the Mad River Valley.

Gerrit has construction experience working for New England Construction Company when he was younger.
He has also spent significant time working on the VonTrapp’s nearby farm. His father is a local woodworked and has been surrounded by the craft his entire life.

Sports have and always will be a big part of Gerrit’s life. He played on the soccer and basketball team in college and today you will find him mountain biking, skiing and pretending to hunt.

Becky Greene
Becky Greene
Project Manager

Born and raised in Queensbury, NY, Becky graduated with an associate degree from CCV, then spent over a decade working in hospitality in VT and DC, and then in the highly demanding realm of wedding event management, at The Round Barn. She is the hyper-organized, detail-oriented hub of all that Goodman does, and loves softball (2nd base, in case you're asking), skiing, and craft beer. She and her husband live in Warren and have 12-year-old daughter.
